With every second of every day, life speeds by us. The opportunity to capture a moment of that time and preserve it for others to experience is one of the things I love most about photography. The ability to creatively express that moment is what drives me to continue looking and learning.
My interest in photography started with a science fair project of building a pin hole camera out of a cardboard box. I also learned how to developed the 4x5 negative for the project. In my early 20's I was shooting a Canon AE1 and built a darkroom. At that time I shot mostly black & white, developed and printed everything myself. I began working with and studying Photoshop in 1996. I have since moved completely to the digital format and now use Photoshop & Lightroom together for processing. I moved to Nikon in 2005, when I purchased a D70S and now use a Nikon D810. My main interest is in nature photography. I frequently hike and mountain bike the trails, and almost always carry my camera, looking forward to the photo opportunities that arise.
